uses
The kit. A /uses page. Opinionated.
the pod
- DYI Netrunner chair — A ZSA Moonlander keyboard attached to the arms of a gamer chair with corrugated cardboard posing as table for writing and support my MX Ergo.
- A height-adjustable small table — From 6 cm to 41 cm (2.3" to 16.1"). I use it to work sitting on the floor or I put it on another table and stand up.
development stack
- Vim/Neovim — since 1999, in one form or another.
:wqon the wrist. - Zed — Warp-speed editor with one of the best vim keybindings outside vim.
- Ghostty — I live in the terminal
- Fish — A terminal needs a shell.
- Android Studio — For obvious reasons.
- Kate — When I am feeling nostalgic.
- Linux — My preferred OS. Since 1999. Distro: KDE Neon. And other distros.
- macOS — My second OS.
- Brave/Zen — Everything has been happening on the web for a while now.
- Android and iOS hardware — Smartphones, tablets, smartwatch from several brands. The usual ones, like Samsung and Apple, and different ones, like the armoured tank Doogee.
- Laptops — Some generations of laptops I got over the years ranging from Dell to Apple, and the Brazilian brand Avell. They run FreeBSD, macOS, and Linux.
knowledge
- Obsidian — My knowledge mesh. Everything links to everything.
- Analogue tools — Old-school Zettelkasten with note cards.
writing devices
- Zerowriter — Drafting without the internet's gravity.
- Olivetti Studio 44 typewriter — The constraint is the point.
- Analogue writing tools — Fountain pens (several brands, I collect them), gel pens, pencils (Mitsubishi Hi-Uni and Blackwing), mechanical pencils (Pentel, Uni Kuru Toga), note cards, notebooks (lots of notebooks).
sound & noise
- Strudel and Sonic Pi for algorhythm (I prefer that name to algorave).
- Too many headphones to justify in writing.
machines
- Some laptops gathered over the years running FreeBSD, macOS, and Linux. Named after cyberpunk — the genre, not the game — characters — Kusanagi Motoko, Judy Alvarez, Molly Millions, etc.
